A couple that rides together...

Mark and I took our first ride together in the woods. Wait...Mark where is your head? Hold on...let me get some practice here...

Ahhhhh...much better. There he is. Cute as ever. We laugh about our attire...we look like park police. Sometimes we even carry whistles! Very official. You never know when you're going to need to call a personal foul...or stop play.

When we got back I think Mark was feeling a little guilty about leaving Seti behind. So she got a thorough grooming. And let me tell you...she loved every minute of it. Look at that smile.

Ahhhhh the life...

I swear...if I am ever reincarnated...I really think it would be awesome to come back as a cat. But, I'd want to live with folks like Mark and Me of course. Folks that don't make me get a job, or clean, or heck...stay awake.

No nagging...just horse bragging!

Made you smile didn't I? (and she should smile...she looks effin amazing! Turns 27 next month...woooo howdy...that's some nice looking horse flesh) Yup. (She embarrasses easy too)

Eavesdropping?

I don't know about you, but I'd be a little uncomfortable having a nosey nuisance listening in on MY conversation. Luckily Mark could care less.

First solo ride of the season

Today was gorgeous. Sunny and with just a teeny bite in the air. Perfect riding weather. Since this year Cheyenne turns 5, she will be my focus. Lots of miles on this little 'big' girl. So we started today. First we had a little pre-ride snack.


Then we investigated the cool mounting block mom got at Ikea. (we have one in the trailer too) Cheyenne thinks it would make a nice hat.


On the trail, we discovered there was still snow in many areas...but luckily where we were riding it was pretty clear. The woods looked so amazing...it had been months (November) since we'd been back there riding. Didn't realize how much I missed it.


When we got back...Cheech really 'thought' she deserved another snack. She helped herself to some hay. (that area is where we store it) Notice how the other horses are like "You're not supposed to DO that!" It was fun getting her turned around...I even made the beep beep sound that big vehicles make when they back up. hee hee

Oldie but goodie

Seti will turn 27 next month. Actually she turns 27 on the 27th...which oddly enough was the exact date (April 27th) we closed on the farm 5 years ago. Funny how things happen. Anyway...she is still gorgeous...in great weight and most days in a good mood...okay mainly when you have a treat in your hand. But hey..she's retired...she can be grumpy all she wants. Maybe she can apply to be a greeter at Walmart? Hand out those cute little smiley face stickers. (don't ask how I know about the stickers)

Time flies...

In May (the 24th to be exact) Cheyenne will turn 5. Hard to believe that my big girl was once a teeny tiny foal. I get the biggest kick out of seeing her baby photos. My how she's grown...and how unbelievably fast time flies. I still can't believe I've had her in my life for 4 years. They grow so fast! Growing like a weed! Time sure flies! It all has profound meaning to me...
